On the road

Driving on the Autobahn, the German motorway, in the Eastern part of Germany is fun. There are not many traffic jams and speed limits are less common than in West Germany. So travelling is fast and easy. Dresden has direct connections to Berlin and Prague as well as all to Frankfurt, Munich and all the way to Krakow in Poland. Leipzig is equally well connected. In 2013, Germany allowed companies to run buses from city to city, competing with long-distance railways of German Rail. Dresden and Leipzig are thus connected to a number of cities in Germany. Other bus lines connect the Saxon cities with other European cities.
